documentation testing

Testing concerned with the accuracy of documentation.
BS 7925-1.British Computer Society Specialist Interest Group in Software Testing (BCS SIGIST)

In my humble opinion the documentation sent with a piece of software is extremely important. Why? Because if the documentation does not lead the implementer or user to the functionality they will believe it is not working, and thus ring support.

The person to do this testing, should have the mind closest to that of the customer. In most organisations I suggest that this should be a Support role.

Documentation testing is an excellent opportunity for Beta Testing.
